Welcome to the final day of our Gospel Meeting. Thank you for attending and supporting this effort to share the good news of Jesus Christ to the Wagoner community!
As you are well aware, our meeting this year was done quite differently than usual. This year we invited different congregations from our surrounding area to come and help us in our worship to Almighty God. Several congregations stepped right up and became a part of our effort here to reach the lost and to show, to demonstrate the unity of the Lord’s church to our friends and neighbors. I don’t have the words to express my appreciation to S. College in Tahlequah, Chouteau Hills in Chouteau, 29th & Yale in Tulsa and the church in Porter for coming and being a part of our gospel meeting effort. They all did a wonderful job in leading our worship services. I am hoping this will be the beginning of an area-wide effort to rebuild the unity that needs to exist among the congregations of the Lord’s church, not just here, but throughout the world.
And last but, certainly not least, I want to thank all in our church family here for all of your prayers, your work and effort and your encouragement as we put this gospel meeting together and are now completing all of our plans today. We had a lot of people step up in a lot of different ways to help make this meeting a success. Thank you and may our God bless you richly for all the effort you put into making this meeting a success.
But, this leaves us with another question - where do we go from here? What do we do now? This is where we all need to really take notice of any and all visitors we had at any time during our meeting. We need to make more contact with them, insure that they are invited to come back and worship with us and, offer to visit and study God’s word with them. We need to insure that they know they are loved, appreciated and important, not just to us, but important to God, Himself.
Brethren, I fully believe that this past week has been a wonderful beginning of new things for this congregation of the Lord’s people. We have made new contacts, gotten involved more in the Lord’s work, built relationships with our brethren around us, set an example of unity and devotion to the Lord. This makes for a wonderful foundation on which to build for our future. May our God bless us richly as we attempt to do just that!
Until next week, I love you all,
Dan
GREAT NEWS - Pauline Thomas called Tuesday afternoon to inform us that Monday afternoon at 4:00 her daughter-in-law, her granddaughter and two great-grandsons were baptized into Christ at Locust Grove by Keith Cagle who preaches for the church there. What great news! She asked that we all pray that they all now continue to grow in Christ!
