Now, considering what has happened here with this great gift of songbooks, I fully believe we are seeing the results of God’s law of sowing and reaping in Galatians 6:7-8 where Paul says, “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.” This congregation has been very generous in several different ways. This is a very generous congregation in its giving financially, in supporting various works of the Lord’s church and in trying to help others. While we are very small and don’t have a lot of funds, we do well considering what we have. I really believe the gift of these wonderful songbooks is a way of God showing His appreciation for this congregation doing the best it can with what it has. I hope this will encourage all of us to really keep on with our generous giving and reaching out to others in every way possible.
Along with all of this, we will have a special guest with us this evening. Austin Greer from the Checotah congregation will be here for a short visit with our men following services. Brother Greer will be attending Bear Valley preacher’s school in a few months and is needing some support. He will do our devotional for our singing night and then present his material to our men for their consideration at our next men’s meeting. Of course, we will not be able to give him an answer tonight because we will have to go over our budget and see where we are with everything. But, if it works out, we might be able to help this young man prepare to give his life full time to the Lord’s service and the preaching of God’s Word.
Until next week, I love you all,
Dan
