Well, today Pam and I begin our last week with this wonderful congregation. Yes, our time will go through to the end of the month but, we will be using our last week of vacation beginning next Sunday through Saturday (last day of June). I have tried to emphasize numerous times how much we have loved being a part of this congregation of the Lord’s church. We are NOT leaving because we want to leave you! We are leaving because it is time for me to retire from full time work and the Lord has finally worked it out for us to be able to do that. This is a very good, sound congregation of the Lord’s church! The men here want to do and stand for what is right, not what is right with man but what is right with God! They are willing to put themselves out, willing to accept criticism, willing to do whatever is necessary to stand up and do what is right with God! It is truly an honor to have been associated with, to work with the men here. Pam and I will definitely keep all of you in our prayers as you search for a new preacher to work with this congregation. Hopefully, the Lord will intervene and help you find exactly the man you need to help this congregation to continue to grow and mature spiritually in every way. And, we will also keep all of you in our prayers because you have, what we hope will be, a great VBS coming up very quickly. I think this will be a great opportunity to reach out to this community in a great way and, I’m sure that the group from Tahlequah will do a great job with their part of this.
Along with this, there are a lot of members of the church (maybe even some here) who would really like to be a teacher, teach a class of some kind but, don’t feel they are capable, don’t feel they are knowledgeable enough to do so. If anyone, anyone here, wants to learn to be able to do this there is a great resource available to help all learn how to teach or how to teach better. That resource is available from World Video Bible School. They have a FREE online Bible School designed to help brothers and sisters learn how to teach. So far they have had over 26,000 students from 160 different countries. They offer 45 online courses, one can take whichever course they feel they need most. If you are interested just go online to “school.wvbs.org.” And, remember, it is totally, completely free to all who want to take it and learn how to teach.
And, along with all this, we ask that you keep us in your prayers as we strive to complete our move and, as we continue to try to serve the Lord in every way possible. Hopefully, this will allow our lives to slow down a little and allow us to enjoy our retirement the best we can.
