Then, along with these special activities in other places, is our special day next Sunday. Our monthly “all day” service and fellowship luncheon. This is always a very special day for our family here. While the food is always wonderful, it doesn’t begin to compare with the special time in fellowship, just sitting, visiting and sharing time with each other.
All of this points out the tremendous need of being with and encouraging one another in every way possible. Over 200 times in the New Testament the words “one another” are used to refer specifically to Christians and their relationship to each other. We are to teach one another, help one another, encourage one another, comfort one another, build up one another, etc. This is one of the reasons the writer of the Hebrews letter emphasized the essentiality of “Not forsaking our own assembling together” in Hebrews 10:25. The Lord’s church will not die! And, that means every one of us needs to insure that we are a part of that active, living Body of Christ in every way possible.
Until next week, I love you all,
Dan
