Pam and I will be out and away on a week of vacation through next Sunday, the Lord willing. We will be trying to get a lot of non-essential stuff moved in one way or another during this time. So, for next Sunday brother Allan Lay from Owasso will be preaching and teaching the Sunday morning auditorium class. I’m sure that he will do a really good job of presenting God’s word. I really appreciate him being willing to come and fill in for me. For Wednesday evening, if I remember correctly, Neal Rice will be taking care of the Bible class. And I also really appreciate Neil being willing to step up and help in all the areas where he can.
Brethren, that is one of the great, encouraging things about this congregation of the Lord’s church. To see the men struggle and try to help in any and every way they can to serve the Lord. We have men who are getting older and struggle getting around but, they never give up or quit trying. We have younger men, younger in their Christianity who are striving to grow and mature as Christians. Men who are working, growing and developing their abilities to serve the Lord by serving this congregation in every way they can - leading prayers, serving at the Lord’s table, leading singing, doing devotionals, teaching classes. They know when they’re not there, know they’re going to mess up once in a while but, they refuse to quit trying. It is really up-building and encouraging to see a congregation with this kind of brethren in it. That is just one of the marvelous privileges of being a part of the family of the Wagoner church of Christ.
Until next week, I love you all,
Dan
