Well, brethren, it is starting to get close to time for our Gospel Meeting. That means we have a lot of work to do to get ready for this very special work. Of course, we have already had an ad in the House to House/Heart to Heart that goes out in our area. And, we will also have ads in our local paper. We will have a small ad the week before the meeting and a large ad the day our meeting begins. So, what else can we do? There are many things we can do to try to get the word out and invite family, friends, neighbors and even our brethren to attend this special event. To start with, we will be mailing a letter and meeting flyer to all of the denominations here in Wagoner, secondly, we will be mailing letters and flyers to all of our sister congregations here in N.E. Oklahoma. This we need help with. There are boxes in the fellowship hall with the letters and flyers in them along with envelopes and stamps and a list of all the places they need to be sent. We need a lot of help to put the material in the envelopes, address and stamp them. Everything needed to do this is there together along with a separate box to put the completed letters in to save and mail them all at the same time. If you can help with this, thank you! But, we also have a stack of flyers on the table in the foyer. Each of us can take these flyers and hand them out to our neighbors in the area where each of us lives. This will make it a personal invitation from their “neighbor”, their friend. We never know brethren, when we might make a huge difference in someone’s life by simply giving them a personal invitation to come and hear God’s word preached. Along with all of this, please be praying for this special effort every day. Pray for us in our efforts to reach out to those around us, pray for brother Dalton Key as he prepares to preach God’s word for us, pray for those who will be attending that they will be encouraged, uplifted and brought closer to God by their being here. Along with this we will, again, be having other congregations coming and leading our services for us as we did last year. So far, at the time of this writing, South College from Tahlequah will be here with their youth group to lead services Wednesday evening and the Whispering Hills congregation will be leading Thursday evening. Brother Key will be having some from 10th & Rockford either Friday or Saturday night and I am still working on that one other congregation for the one night left whether Friday or Saturday. Doing this is really helping build better fellowship among our brethren in this area. Along with all of this, I am planning for us to have a special prayer service specifically in support of our meeting either the Wednesday evening or Sunday evening just before our meeting begins. I hope to get with our men and they will decide which they think will work best.
So, lots of GOOD things for us to work on and pray for! With God’s help it will be great!
Until next week, I love you all,
