We did have a pretty serious topic that needed to be discussed and that is the problem with the roof of our facility. We have learned that there are several problems resulting in some leaking, fortunately, so far, the leaking is all on the outside of our building. We don’t know for sure yet but, it appears that at least part of the problem is from a lack of proper work being done by those who repaired our flat roof several months ago. It is going to take some time and examinations by our insurance company and talks with roofing contractors before we will know for sure exactly what needs to be done to get our roof back where it needs to be. Please keep our men in your prayers as they work with all these people and work to make right choices on this very important project. Work is still also ongoing concerning the redoing of our bathrooms. Choices have been made concerning colors for the tile, countertops and paint for the walls. Now it is just “wait and see” as to when we will be able to get it done.
I also had a couple of things to discuss with the men. First - just reminding them I will be gone to Oologah for their summer series on Wednesday evening, June 24th. Frank is going to talk with his son, Mark, to see if he can come and teach that evening. Also, we have learned that our daughter, Lacy, will probably be having some surgery sometime in the next couple of months and will be in the hospital for, at least, a couple of days if not longer. They will need Pam and me to come and help take care of their kids while she is going through this. The men fully agreed to allow us to be able to go do this. I really appreciate their care and concern here.
Next Saturday we have a great opportunity to reach out to our community. There is going to be a Heartland Bazaar at the Wagoner Civic Center from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and we have been given the opportunity of having a free booth there. This will give us the opportunity to hand out materials and information on the church here and, even possibly set up some Bible studies. We will need people to help prepare and then to work the booth. If you are interested in helping let Dan know soon as possible.
Next Sunday, June 21st, we will have Donnie Bates, his wife Noma and their daughter, Jessica, with us. Donnie will give us a report on his extension work with Bear Valley during our Bible class period and will then preach for us during our worship period. We ask all of our classes from high school up to please be in the auditorium for Donnie’s report on his work during Bible class time next Sunday.
Until next week, I love you all,
Dan
