Looking at all of these happening so close together time wise tells us something we need to really pay attention to. That something is that the end of our lives, personally, could come at anytime, any moment, in the twinkling of an eye. “Behold, I tell you a mystery; we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.” (1 Corinthians 15:51-52).
Looking at all of this should demonstrate to us the overwhelming importance of insuring we are faithful to God with every minute of every day. People die every day driving down the road, working at their jobs, recreating with family or just spending time at home. It doesn’t matter where we are or what we are doing our life could end at any moment. And when that happens there is only one thing that will matter. It will not matter how successful I was on my job or how much money I had in the bank or how much time I spent with my spouse, my family or how happy I tried to make other people. The only thing that will matter right then is, am I right with God! “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.”
(2 Corinthians 5:10). Now, we must understand the words “good or bad” here do not refer to what the world sees as good or bad. It refers specifically to being right with God in every way. What if you were to die right now, as you are, would you be saved or lost for eternity?
Until next week, I love you all,
Dan
