A Youth Rally - Date not set yet but, they want Johnie Fredman to come and be the speaker for the rally. It will be on a Saturday or Sunday. It will have to be worked in to Johnie’s busy schedule.
Gospel Meeting - Set for April. One suggested speaker so far is Ken Tackett.
Vacation Bible School - Again, we are to try to find a congregation to come and help us with a VBS. It will have to be scheduled according to their time table.
June Summer Series - For the month of June we will have a guest speaker every Wednesday evening instead of our normal Bible Classes. We are asking for suggestions of speakers anyone would like for us to try to bring in for this special series. The topic for this series will be “The Holy Spirit” - His indwelling, Gifts, Inspiration of the Word and How He works in the church today.
It was also discussed as to whether we want to continue with our monthly “all day service” and fellowship luncheon. It was obvious that everyone seems to enjoy this special day and time together so, it will be continued for this coming year.
These are some of the things that are definitely in the works for this coming year. Now, this coming Saturday, we will have our Budget Planning Meeting. In this meeting the men will set the budget for all we will be attempting to do in 2016. If any of you have suggestions for any of these areas please do not hesitate to make them known so they can be discussed in the meeting this Saturday. This concerns all of our mission work, personal evangelism, building and grounds care, etc.
There is one question that the men will need to address that has nothing to do with budget but with convenience and desires of the congregation. What about our 4th Sunday all day service and luncheon for December? The fourth Sunday comes just 2 days after Christmas (Christmas weekend). Do we want to keep it the same, cancel it or back it up to the 3rd Sunday which will be a week before Christmas? Please let your feelings be known on this so the men can make a decision on it this Saturday.
Until next week, I love you all,
Dan
