We will have a small ad in the paper for our Gospel Meeting the day it begins, Sept. 21.
We do have congregations lined up to come and lead services for the first four nights of the meeting. South College will be here Wed. evening with their youth group as they did last year, Whispering Hills will be here Thursday evening, 29th & Yale Friday evening and Dalton will bring a group with him from 10th and Rockford for Saturday evening. Of course, all the services Sunday will be led by our men here.
We are still struggling some with our Insurance Company in getting the roof for the house completely taken care of. Hopefully, that will all be settled in the next week or so.
It was reported that one of the commodes in the ladies restroom in the back was not working properly, one of the men said he would work on getting that taken care of.
There were some minor problems with the church’s lawnmower that Dan is using to help move the yard at the house and it has all been taken care of and working fine now.
Thanks to all the men who were able to be here and take part in this meeting concerning the work of the church here. The men here are very good about working together and doing all they can to see that all is taken care of and that we are able to do that which is most important, honoring our God and our Savior and then teaching and sharing their Word in every way possible with all those around us.
Tonight will be a very special service. Our Gospel Meeting with Dalton Key will begin this Wednesday evening. So, to try our best to put everything in the proper perspective, our service this evening will be a prayer service directed at this special effort to share the good news of Christ and His Word. We will have special songs, special scripture reading and special prayers led all on behalf of this great effort. I ask the men, if you have not already done so, please look at the list of needed prayers in the foyer, select one and put your name down to lead that particular prayer in our special service this evening.
To all of our members, please do all you can to spread and share the news of our gospel meeting to all your friends and neighbors. They may not want to hear it or attend but, they sure can’t and won’t if they don’t know anything about it. Check out and read song # 663 in our songbooks. Ask yourself, “Do I want this to be me on the day of Judgment?” This is our chance, our opportunity to share Christ with our family, friends and neighbors.
Until next week, I love you all,
