I also want to thank Mark Everett for coming and preaching God’s word in my absence. I know he will do a really good job and I appreciate his time and effort.
Also, I want all of our ladies to know about the Ladies Day that will be taking place at the 18th and Denison congregation in Muskogee on Saturday, June 17th. There is a flyer on the bulletin board in the foyer with all the information including the speakers for this special event.
Now, another thing we all need to be thinking about for our work here, the Garriott Road congregation in Enid is interested in sending their youth group to come and help us with a VBS this summer. The date they have suggested that works best for them is for a one day VBS on Saturday, July 29th. They will come on Thursday evening to be here to decorate and knock doors on Friday, have VBS on Saturday, they will stay over for Services Sunday morning and then return to Enid Sunday afternoon. Now, we will need to be able put them up so we will need families willing to help with this. And, we will also need to be willing to help pay for the materials used in the VBS. We need to make a decision on this very quickly so we can let them know if we are in for this. We will need to make a decision by next Lord’s Day so we can give them plenty of time to get their planning done. They do not know for sure how many will be coming but we can plan for as many as we can possibly put up for the weekend. Brethren, this can be a great opportunity for us and for Garriott Rd. We can use this to reach out to the community around us, to let people know we care about them. Garriott Rd. will use this as an opportunity to help their young people grow in learning how to teach and reach out to others. It can be a really great time for us all. So, please seriously consider all of this so we can make a decision next Lord’s Day.
Until next week, I love you all,
Dan
