There is another very special event coming up in just a little over a month and that is Affirming The Faith at the North MacArthur Congregation in OKC. That will be on Friday and Saturday, March 2-3. Friday will be the elders and preachers banquet closing with a lesson that is open to everyone and then, Saturday is loaded with all kinds classes and presentations and because they are so good, they are really hard to pick from. Lord willing, Pam and I are planning to be there for that great weekend. If someone can just travel up on Saturday, it will be well worth the effort. One of the speakers this year is Mike Vestal. He is the one that put together our Wednesday evening material we are using on Spirituality 101. I have never had the chance to meet this man and I am really looking forward to meeting him and telling him how much we are enjoying this study he has shared with us.
Brethren, it is wonderful to have these great activities coming in the near future and anxiously look forward to them. But, we must also remember, we are not promised tomorrow. As great as it is to look forward to great events, it is even of far greater importance to look at where I am, we are right now. In a recent edition of “Old Paths” Dalton Key’s Dad, Bobby, wrote an article entitled “Christ Is Coming Again” in which he made some very important points which I am going to mention briefly. Christ’s coming will be totally unexpected but it will be: 1. Majestic (Matt. 25:31); 2. It will be sudden (Matt. 25:13; 24:44); 3. It will be the end of preparation (Matt. 25:32, 46); 4. It will be the beginning of supreme joy for some (Matt. 25:44); 5. It will be the beginning of supreme sorrow for others (Matt. 25:41). We will have no warning, no announcement when this is going to happen. Great as it is to plan for, look forward to things in the future, Brethren, we must insure that we are ready right now, every minute of every day for Christ’s second coming. Are you truly ready to see Him as you are right now?
Until next week, I love you all,
Dan
