Secondly, the men discussed our work for this year and, basically, that only covered two things that needed to be discussed in this planning session. Those two things were will we have a gospel meeting and will we have a Vacation Bible School for this year. The men were very adamant in that yes, they wanted us to have both. The men discussed the meeting they would like to have and determined that the September time we have used in the past was the best and set Wednesday, September 19 - Sunday, September 23 as the possible dates and all were in agreement they would like to have Dalton Key from 29th and Rockford to come back to preach for our meeting if he is available. I was asked to contact brother Key to see if he is available. I was able to contact brother Key Monday and he was excited about coming back for another meeting with us and the time fit perfect for him. Then our VBS was discussed. Of course, for this we will need some outside help to come in to help with all the various classes, etc. Some had talked with the church in Tahlequah and they, apparently, were excited about the possibility of coming to help us with VBS. I was also asked to talk with them about when will work best for them time wise and, also, about helping provide the needed materials. It will be a “one day” VBS, on a Saturday and we will need to provide, not just the materials but also snacks and food for the day as well. But, that brethren, we know we can do. I have been in contact with brother Tyrel Hatfield and he is working on a schedule and other things and will get back with me soon as he gets some things lined out for us to consider as far as time and materials. So, two great works for this year are in the planning mill. We will inform everyone just as soon as all the plans are solidly in place. Again, with this congregations attitude and desire towards growing and doing for the Lord, I believe great things will come about for us in this new year.
Until next week, I love you all,
Dan
