As you can see, we are starting with the basics in these lessons and then gradually moving upward with them. Is there a purpose in this? Yes, very much so. There are a lot of people we would like to study the Bible with, people we would like to get to come to church and worship God with us. But, if they don’t believe in God to begin with, they will never show any interest in worshipping God or studying God’s “word!” There are a lot of really “good” people out there who, for various reasons, do not believe in God. Many of them did at one time but, because of various things that have happened to them or, to people they care about, they have decided God just does not exist. So, this is where we must begin. We help them restore their believe in Almighty God and His Son, Jesus Christ. Then, and only then, will we get them interested in a study of God’s Holy Word.
In addition to all this, we have many in the Wagoner area that were faithful Christians at one time but have just fallen away. Its not that they don’t believe in God, they have just lost their faith in the church as the Body of Christ. These are some we also need to be reaching out to in every way possible. Let them know we care about them, let them know we care about their souls, show them we are ready and willing to work and study with them.
Brethren, considering all these things, they can, sometimes, be a little overwhelming. Sometimes it can just seem to be more than we can handle. We must never forget the words of the apostle Paul in Philippians 4:13 where Paul said, “I can do all things through Him Who strengthens me!” This applies to all of us, everyone of us. It applies to us collectively as the Lord’s church and it applies to us individually as Christians. Remember, with the Lord on our side, who can be against us?”
Until next week, I love you all,
Dan
