Continued renovation of our facility was discussed. The men determined to keep on with the plans put in place a couple of years ago. That includes improving the Ladies restroom and more work in the fellowship hall for right now.
Our upcoming display for the Heartland Bazaar on Saturday, April 22 was discussed and the men approved a variety of materials to be put on display on our table. Some we have plenty of, others we will have to order as quickly as possible to insure it all gets here in time for us to use it. Mary Rowe has provided a wonderful banner to put on the table with our name and address on it. Brethren, this is a wonderful opportunity to put the Lord’s church out in public for all in our community to see and learn about. We must do everything we can to have the absolute best approach possible to get people to stop and visit with us. All of the materials will be free for the taking. We will also have a prominent sign and sign-up sheet to encourage people to sign up for our free Bible correspondence courses.
Our financial statement was approved by the men. Times are tough but the Lord is providing in a wonderful way through our members here. We will be able to continue with the physical improvements with no problem. The men really appreciate Mary Rowe putting all the information together for them. Also, Diana Shea is doing a great job as a part-time secretary in keeping our bills paid, doing the bulletin, etc.
Along with everything else, the men approved a week of vacation for Dan that will be Thursday, June 1 - Wednesday, June 7. So, we will need a guest speaker for Sunday June 4th and, hopefully, our men will be able to take care of Wednesday evening June 7th.
It was also brought up that some are having trouble hearing the men leading the prayers. There was some discussion on how we might can get a microphone available close to the pews for those who are unable to climb the steps to the podium to the mike there. Several things were discussed and we are going to work on this because we definitely want everyone to be able to hear the prayers being led in our Bible classes and worship times.
And, just a reminder to everyone, it would really be great to have a good group of us to attend the gospel meeting at the Azalea congregation in Muskogee Monday evening. If you would like to go and need a ride please let me know. I plan to leave at about 6:15 p.m. to head that way. Brethren, we need to do all we can to help support the faithful congregations of the Lord’s church in our area.
Until next week, I love you all,
Dan
