The church in Haiti was also discussed considering all the horrible damage they have suffered from both, earthquakes and hurricanes recently. They are struggling just to get clothes to wear and food to eat. The men all agreed to send them $500 to help in whatever way it can be used.
Doug Kelley is still working to get all of our restrooms up to date to help stop any slow leaking that might be taking place.
House to House/Heart to Heart contacted us and they are changing from a “bi-monthly” to a “monthly” publication. This means our cost will double because they will be sending twice as many publications. The men will decide in our budget meeting whether to go with the change, stay bi-monthly or stop sending the publication completely. We have not had a lot of responses but, we have had some request for the Bible Correspondence Courses as a result of this being mailed throughout our area.
Sunday, Dec. 31st, will be a “5th Sunday” as well as New Year’s Eve. We will have our usual 5th Sunday singing and prayer service Sunday evening followed by a game night with snack foods for all who want to stay for a New Year’s Eve party.
Also, it was suggested that we set up a visitation, singing group to visit and sing to and pray with our shut-ins. This would be a monthly activity. Sheets will be posted for all who would like to help to sign-up to be a part of this special effort. A minimum of 4 or 5 will be needed but more will be welcome.
Dan will be taking his final week of vacation over the Christmas weekend. Adam Lively from Owasso will be coming to preach and teach in Dan’s place while he and Pam are gone Dec. 24th.
World Video Bible School now offers a free online Bible School. 45 courses that covers every book of the Bible plus additional topics. So far they have registered over 23,000 students, many of whom have never studied the Bible.
As you can see, it was a really good meeting with good things discussed. Anxious to see what all will be accomplished in our Budget/Planning Session next Saturday.
Until next week, I love you all,
Dan
