Well, we had men’s meetings two Sundays in a row due to so much that had to be taken care of.  I can tell you, I am very proud of the men of this congregation.  They honestly, truly want to serve the Lord in every way possible.  They know and understand that we need to be good stewards of that with which God has blessed us in a physical way.  As a result they continue to work and plan ways to take care of our physical facility here.  But, they also know that our greatest work is sharing the gospel of Christ and striving to save souls for eternity.  So, in consideration of these things the men agreed for us to help others in reaching out with the gospel of Christ.  We will be helping two men attend schools of preaching, one will be going to Brown Trail down by Ft. Worth, TX and the other will be attending Bear Valley in Denver, CO.  In addition, our son-in-law, Jonathan is working with the World Bible Institute as their West Africa Coordinator.  This is in addition to his work with the congregation in Hobbs, NM as their family and youth minister.  From 2010—2013 there were over 6000 people baptized into Christ in the Ghana, West Africa area. That is approximately 2,000 people a year or 170  people a month.  Jonathan is working to help get materials and teachers over there to help in the spreading of the gospel.  So, we will be helping support him in his once a year trip to Ghana and the effort he is putting in there.

We also discussed what to do with all the extra song books and Bibles we now have.  We are sending two boxes of the song books to a mission congregation on Ottawa, Canada, hoping to get them in the mail this week (11th or 12th).  The Bibles have two possibilities.  One, there is a missionary, if we can find him, that would like to take some to the Philippines.  And secondly, sending the rest to the Hope Harbor Thrift Store.  There they give them out free of charge to the people who come in shopping for clothes there.

We also began planning for our gospel meeting that is scheduled for April 22-26.  The theme of our meeting this year is “Do You Know My Jesus?”  This taken from the song that is in many song books (not in ours) of the same name.  The lessons will be about who and what Jesus is but the main focus is going to be on his arrest, trial, crucifixion, resurrection and His second coming with separate lessons on each of these.  Of course, the final day will be on Sunday, April 26 and that will be our all day service and luncheon.  We plan to mail flyers to all the congregations in N.E. OK and also to all the denominations in the Wagoner area along with some ads in the local newspaper.  If you have other suggestions to help with this please let us know.

Brethren, this congregation is trying to serve the Lord to the best of its ability.  Please pray fervently for our efforts.

Until next week, I love you all,

Dan
