First of all - our financial statement was reviewed and approved. Brethren, we are doing very well financially, especially for the small congregation that we are. Now, I’m not saying we are rich or rolling in money but, we are staying well ahead of all of our debts, keeping all paid for and have had extra to help with some emergency situations with our brethren in other places. It is wonderful to be associated with a congregation as loving and giving as all of you are!
Secondly, the men do want to know how much is left on the loan we have on the roof replacement loan we made. They are thinking we may be able to just pay it off and be done with it.
Thirdly, The men have given Pam and I a week of vacation time that will begin tomorrow and go through next Sunday. This time, instead of bringing in someone to teach and preach in my place, men of the congregation here are stepping up to fill in for me. Neal Rice will be teaching the Wednesday evening Bible class for me, next Sunday, they are going to combine the two adult Bible classes into the auditorium where Courtlan Thompson will teach the class and he will also preach the Sunday morning sermon. Then, Neal Rice will preach the Sunday evening lesson. I really appreciate these men willing to put out the time and the effort to do what they are for this congregation. I’m sure that they will both do a great job. And Pam and I are really looking forward to getting away for a few days just to relax and have some special time together. I just can’t say enough about how this congregation has cared for us.
This pretty much covers all the business matters that we had to cover in our meeting. Some other things were discussed but will be worked on in a separate way.
Brethren, we have certainly had our share of struggles here in the Wagoner congregation. We have lost a lot of family members very dear to you all along with all the serious health issues many are still struggling with. But, with all of this, we have a lot of things to be very grateful for in many ways. The Lord has answered many prayers and will continue doing so. We have managed to grow, our Sunday attendance is gradually increasing along with some other things that are a great blessing to us. And, I believe these things are happening because of the devotion of this congregation to the Lord and His work.
Hope you enjoy the test of finding the sixteen books of the Bible that are in the story on the front of this bulletin. Do the best you can and, next week, Lord willing, there will be an answer sheet in the bulletin with all the answers on it.
Until next week, I love you all,
Dan
