Well, here we are, at the conclusion of our Gospel Meeting with brother Allen Everett.  I really appreciate all the effort brother Everett put into delivering these great lessons for us and, I also appreciate the great effort all of you put into supporting this effort to reach out to our community with the good news of Christ!  Brethren, when we have done all we can, worked to the best of our ability, we must then leave the rest in God’s hands.  He has promised He will bring good for us in one way or another.  It may not come from the direction we are looking or the way we expect but, good will come in one form or another!  We must remember God’s words through the apostle Paul in Romans 8:28 where he said, “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”  Now, notice, He did not say everything WILL BE good but, that all things work together FOR good!.  If we have put out our best effort, devoted ourselves to do all we could with what we have then, our God will take care of the rest and He will bring some good out of it in one way or another.

Brethren, I have to tell you, I am really impressed with some of the things I have seen happening within this congregation just over the past couple of years.  I am seeing some great growth in a lot of areas, especially in the  area of spiritual growth.  What I am seeing just in the areas of our attendance and giving is almost overwhelming.   This is obviously a congregation of people who truly love God and want to do all they can to serve and honor Him in every way.  All of this in spite of the health issues many in our church family here are facing.  It is obvious that the majority of this congregation believes and practices what Paul said in Philippians 4:13 where he said, “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.”  Think about some of the things Paul says we “can do” in the verses (1-12) that lead up to what he says there in vs. 13.

We can love our brethren - vs. 1
We can stand firm in the Lord - vs. 1
We can live in harmony in the Lord -vs. 2
We can help resolve conflict - vs. 3
We can rejoice in the Lord - vs. 4
We can be patient - vs. 5
We can overcome worry and anxiety - vs. 6
We can pray about everything - vs. 6
We can know the peace of God - vs. 7
We can think on the right things - vs. 8
We can be content regardless of circumstances - vs. 11-12
We can do all things through Christ -vs. 13

As I said earlier, I am seeing a lot of these things actually being put into practice right here in this congregation.  May our God help us all to keep on, keeping on in all we are trying to do in our service to Him.

Until next week, I love you all,
                                     Dan
