The second thing the men were concerned about is our upcoming gospel meeting. We originally were going to have it in September but, with us just now getting the topics and all together it was determined that we would not have enough time to get it publicized and advertised the way it would need to be done. So, the dates for our meeting have been changed to October 11-15. That will be a Wednesday through Sunday time schedule. Allen (Mark) Everett will be our speaker and he is working on getting all of the topics together. But, this will give us plenty of time to plan our advertising, getting the flyers together and printed out and mailed to all of the area congregations to invite them plus, sending them to all of the denominations in the Wagoner area to invite them as well. We will also have plenty of flyers for everyone here to take plenty home and pass out to the neighbors in your neighborhood and invite them personally. We know that the majority of people we invite won’t come but, they sure won’t come if they are not invited to come at all.
Another thing mentioned was the need of a speaker in the nursery room off the side of the auditorium so those caring for their little ones during worship could hear the lessons, prayers and singing during worship. That will be looked into to see what we need to do to get that done.
I am always very encouraged by being a part of our monthly men’s meetings. One thing I don’t hear is a lot of complaining and griping. What I do hear is a real love for the Lord and His church. I hear a great desire on the part of the men here to serve the Lord better, to help this congregation grow and reach out to others. I hear a deep concern for our church family here and what we can do to help and encourage each other. It is an honor to be a part of this congregation! Please keep all of us in your prayers that we can do better and better.
Until next week, I love you all,
Dan
