On the physical aspect was the need of better lighting on the northeast part of our parking lot. That is going to be worked on. Also, the need of speakers in our nursery to enable those in it to hear what is going on in the service - singing, preaching, teaching, etc. That also is being looked into.
Another thing suggested is that we get some good brochures customized for our congregation here and use them to participate in public activities in Wagoner such as parades and other things to help get the church more out in the public. We are going to work on that also.
We still have several boxes of our old song books stored in our library room that we need to get rid of. We will be looking for either a mission congregation or a small struggling congregation to give them to free of charge. Hopefully we can be of good help to our brethren somewhere with this.
Other changes were discussed just in what we are doing here. It was suggested that we have a men’s Bible study group similar to the Ladies that meet on Mondays. This would be a study to help them grow into teaching and other areas of serving the Lord better. Also, it was requested that we extend our Bible class time on Wednesday evenings. We normally just have a 30 minute class but, the men agreed to extend it to 40 minutes to give us a little more study time. Also a new curriculum is being worked on for our kids (age 6-7) class. Some good material that all of our teachers will be able to work with.
Another thing discussed was the need to begin working on ways to reach out to those who have fallen away. To reach out to them in different ways such as sending them cards letting them know they are missed and following up with visits to let them know they are cared about and missed.
A lot of things discussed and, none of these things will just happen overnight. These are things we need to put a lot of thought, effort and preparation into. If we will do the best we can with what we have, the Lord will bless our efforts in a very special way.
Brethren, I love sitting in these meetings and just listening to the men discuss these things. Their concern for the Lord’s church as a whole and their church family here is very obvious. It is also obvious that they want this congregation to stay true to the Lord and His word in every way. Please keep all of these men and our congregation here in your prayers that we will continue to achieve and accomplish for our God.
Until next week, I love you all,
