So, what will we do with this new year the Lord has blessed us with? What would we like to accomplish for ourselves personally? What would we like to accomplish for God both personally and collectively as His church? This evening following our evening services we will have our first men’s business meeting of 2018. In this meeting the men will need to set up a time for a Budget and Planning session for the work of the church here. We must remember, if there is no plan, there will be no work. Also, the old saying is very true, “To fail to plan is to plan to fail.” When we have this planning session we will need the input from all of our members, male and female, young and old. Ladies, talk to your husbands, talk to the men, give them your desires, your suggestions, your ideas for what you would like to see this congregation accomplish in 2018. Men, every single one of us needs to do all we can to insure that we are AT this planning session whenever we set it up to happen. Please, listen to your family, to those around you, write down their ideas, their suggestions and, also, your own ideas and suggestions for what we can strive to accomplish for the Lord in this new year. Yes, we are small, yes, we struggle in many areas but, if we are striving to do the will of God, striving to do what our God wants us to do the way He wants us to do it, the Lord will bless our efforts. We’ve seen it in this last year and, I fully believe we will see it even more in this coming year. So, one of the main things we need to accomplish in our meeting this evening is to set the date for this special session to plan our work and our budget for this year.
As we get into this new year we have some special needs that are a good thing. Because of our growth in membership, we now have a children’s class both Sunday morning and Wednesday evening. We need some teachers who can work together, to alternate with each other, give each other a break in teaching these classes. Hopefully, each one will teach a quarter at a time. All teachers need breaks, time to be taught instead of constantly teaching. If you can help with this please contact one of the men and we will try to help get things set up.
Until next week, I love you all,
Dan
